Ghanasan is a collaborative project between IDEO, Unilever, and Water and Sanitation for the Urban Poor to explore sanitation issues in Ghana. We’re coming up with sustainable sanitation concepts for poor urban areas like Kumasi, the nation’s second-largest city, with a population of more than 1.5 million people.
We spent two weeks in Ghana in December 2010 visiting families, community leaders, and sanitation entrepreneurs. The Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) kindly arranged our visits and have been great supporters of this effort.
We’re simultaneously running an open innovation challenge on OpenIDEO. Please share your inspirations and concepts.
